About Me

My photo
MrCachet
Helena, Montana, United States
I'm a seventy-two year old artist with a passion for history and the printed word. Until my retirement from the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, my home business was known as Dube Cachets. My cachets, done on envelopes bearing canceled FDOI postage stamps, were classed as "Hand-drawn, Hand-painted." I produced, year-round, art on envelopes for more than 25 subscribers. In 2008 I "closed" my cachet business and began Old Paper Art. When a piece of "old paper" catches my eye, I begin my layout with a thorough study of the subject matter and history related to the particular piece of paper. Using primarily colored pencils, I put my art directly on the original old documents.
