THANKS for being my friend PFF #14

My wife just recently went through my 'box', and pulled another twenty or so covers out that hadn't seen the light of day for a number of years. This one has no date written on the back, which is usually a sign that I didn't include a letter with this one. She didn't care. The envelope was enough, although I often felt badly that I didn't write at least something. She's still my best friend.

  5. I can see why your wife didn't care that the cover didn't contain a letter. The effort that went into turning her name into art said it all.

  6. Wow, how fortunate Terri was to receive something wonderful like this...and how fortunate you are that she still values it. Really wonderful. It's beautiful too, but I'm so touched by the sentiment that the content almost doesn't matter.

  10. Oh, my word! What beautiful work--inspiring!

Have you looked at Abe Lincoln's blog on caligraphy, art and handwriting? He's amazing, too. I have a feeling you two would have a lot in common.

As for me--I am in awe of both you and Abe. And I'm SO inspired.

    Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy PFF!

  13. The number of ways you embedded the peace sign in your intricate, filigree art on these covers never ceases to amaze me. Almost as if it's part of your own dna, Dave.
Were there butterlies in Viet Nam?

  14. Good question, Penny. I don't remember ever seeing butterflies. Creepy crawly overly large bugs, some with many legs, lizards and snakes. No butterflies. Butterflies are free.

  15. I don't know which I like better, the heart on the T, or the little CND symbols on the butterfly, considering where you were! :)
