Try, Try Again

I got some news last night about a Gallery in Jackson, Wyoming, that might possibly be interested enough to let me walk in the door and show 'em what I got. It's worth a written inquiry, anyway. So - I'm off to the Post Office to show them the Horse I rode in on.

And... I heard from a gentleman in Great Falls that Mr. Bob Bundi at the Glass Art Shop & Gallery might also be good enough to let me do a walk-in Show & Tell. So - I threw this one at the Pony Express rider this AM. I can't strike out forever.

Last but not least, I got one more recommendation today about Avery's Paradise. Hmmmm.

  1. Nice looking horse you have to ride in on. I bet they will let you tie it up there, and probably feed it too.

  2. I've never seen such a unique H--or horse, for that matter. Major clue about the uniqueness of your work. May their interest be piqued, and may you have to pack up your saddlebags soon!

  4. Hello Dave - I was going to email you when I had my post up! But one thing led to another and before you know it...you've left a comment to say hi and 7 things you noticed about your mail art.

    May I reply?
1)I removed the labels because I figured they were marking where the envelope flap was stuck down. I love the Paris map. I think I'm going to do a series of ATCs/ACEOs based on what areas I read on that map (I'll do the research to find out more about each part that intrigues me).

2)I have already reciprocated! Too late!!!!!!

    3) Rules are for the guidance of wise men and are adhered to by fools.

    4)New Zealand. Ha ha.

5)Where is your number 5 question? I do love voids and vaccuums (what artist doesn't?). So don't fret if you can't think what you were going to ask.

6)Only stick great art on there - especially other's mail art.

7)In Archaic English that's exactly how you spell Queen!

    6)

  5. Nice set of envelopes. I like them all. We were thinking of you the other day when we came across some old envelopes with 3 cent first class stamps.

I also posted more on copyrights as a comment on the Pick a Peck of Pixels blog.

  6. Bonjour!
I'm on my first visit to your site after reading your comment on mine. I don't know how I missed your site before but I'm glad I discovered it today because you have some mail art above which would be perfect for the October issue of A Festival of Postcards.
If you're not familiar with the Festival, please drop by:
    http://wp.me/pp92w-4Xm
where you can learn about it and click on a link to the August (Quadrupeds) issue.
I would be honoured to feature some of your Mail Art.

  7. Lovin the horse you rode in on Dave, LOL! Good luck with the show and tells lets hope it works out for you. You could always get that horse to throw a shoe you know, just for luck! Crossing fingers and toes (promise I washed the socks they came in, LOL!)

  9. Perhaps you need an amended title for this one:
Try, Try, Tri Again! Persistence is the key. Knowing you as I do, I'm sure the maps match the gallery locale, but where did you get them?

  10. They also match my 'masthead' or title bar, which is also from the same map. They all came from a rather large copy of a map of Montana Territory, and I have to tell you that I don't know when it was originally printed. It predates the formation of the provinces in Canada, since across the top of the border it says 'British Possessions'. I like the portion where Shelby ought to be since Shelby ain't there - yet. Nor is Great Falls, or Billings, or any number of other towns whose names you'd recognize. Lots of Forts, though.

  11. Dave, with and introduction like yours arriving via the PEx, I can't imagine HOADC not being intrigued and wanting more than this tasty appetizer.

  13. Hello Dave,
You don't have to send me anything at all.
What happens is that I will capture a thumbnail of your post, and embed it in the Festival with a link directly back to your post.
I'll take care of registering you and I'll contact you when we publish the Festival.
    Thanks!
