The Monkees, The Boxtops & The Animals

I remember them all. I thought about the Circus a few times when I was doing this piece, but The Monkees didn't jump rope, Eric Burdon & The Animals didn't cut their hair, and The Boxtops - well, I'll never forget The Letter.

There are a couple of other products that the National Biscuit Company produced, but for the moment - I have no more Nabisco paper.

  1. Darn, I wish I had some Nabisco paper to send you...

  2. This is great! Love the string. Brings back good memories of walking around holding that little string with the box. Somehow felt very special.

  3. Holy-Moly! U-Nailed It! One look at the monkeys jumping rope and I'm a happy 4 year old skipping along the sidewalk with my brother on a picnic to the Court House lawn. Someone at Uneeda was thinking when they designed the shoelace handle for little hands to hold....and swing.
    Uneeda more paper, Buddy.

  4. Ahhh Dave, you've done it again! Love teh striking red on this one. I actually thought it was a photo at one point! Just been scoffing out on Griffin's gingernuts just now, so once again (like the chocolate) I feel at one with your latest posting...lol.
I tried to find any refernce to the word "maotomi" and could only find Japanese phonetic spellings.... This letter of ours just gets curiouser and curiouser (..."cried Alice!" Who forgot to speak the Queen's English...).
Anyway - lovely work, Dave. Just now finished my Pulp Redux book, if you'd like to take a look.

(P.S. I hope I didn't come across as too harsh on you about the NZ vs Oz thing. You see, we really love each other, but it's kind of a love hate thing, too. Our favourite saying in NZ is: "Yeah, we love Australia. The problem is, it's full of Australians, lol!" Just ask Kim, one of your followers...") Hi Kim!

  5. oh, come ON! This is fab. I love this very much. I love it so much I may have to put this link on my lastest favorite links.

    uneeda biscuit!
